Rent allowances for the most part do not cover total rental expenses for those living in the city at Istanbul International Community School. Most teachers pay a little extra (between 50 and 150 US$ per month) but the apartments are excellent. Some of the apartments which have been with Istanbul International Community School for a long time have wonderful views and the school will only house teachers in safe areas. All teachers in the city currently live within... Now, for some issues at Istanbul International Community School: The business office is sometimes frustrating which I feel is a result of cultural differences rather than anything sinister. I feel like I have the same problems at the local store as I do getting things resolved in the business office (communication!!)... Any routine things (salaries, reimbursements, deductions, utility bill payments, general banking) are dealt with in the same time span typical in Turkey...i.e it may take a little longer than in your home country but that's just Turkey.
