First, Colegio da San Jose 5 is NOT an international school, we are a local school with local students. We have an English Immersion program that started this past year (2016) for P1 students... Colegio da San Jose 5 hires foreign teachers with English degrees for the upper grades (forms) and education degrees for Kindergarten through P6... Classes at Colegio da San Jose 5 are large, about 30-35 students, and instruction is broken into 35-40 minute blocks that are controlled by the bell. There is a revolving door of teachers in the classroom everyday... The local education authority in Macau (DSEJ) is a bit of a maze to get some documents through-they are very thorough in investigating degrees and experience. They do not usually approve people with education degrees at the secondary level, instead you must have a degree in the subject area you wish to teach at Colegio da San Jose 5... The physical facilities of Colegio da San Jose 5 are good, they are renovating one of the blocks for the growing English section. There are 5 blocks (buildings) at CDSJ5, one was condemned and will be demolished. When we arrived... |
