The physical American School Asuncion itself is ok. If not up to modern standards... The American School Asuncion teachers a mixed American/Paraguayan mix curriculum, which allows teacher to basically make up their own curriculum, grading scale etc... There is a 100% culture at the American School Asuncion, where all students expect to get 100% in everything they do. Sadly the teachers quite often allow the students to get their way, even when the students work does not merit it... During my time at American School Asuncion two different Academic Directors were put in place... Now we come to prehaps the worst part of the American School Asuncion... The teachers at American School Asuncion are not happy, the students don't enjoy the school, and can see how much of a joke it is... The American School Asuncion is going downhill fast, and with the new changes in Leadership it doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon... The American School Asuncion this year has decided to employ teachers without any teaching degree, and filled up the rest of the spots with teacher with no experience... |
