Charter International School Bangkok

Post by Murphy »

Hi - there are some positions at this school but no review on the paid site. It is quite a small school but does anyone know anything else about it? I have a feeling it will be quite heavily staffed with local hires but I may be very wrong!

Thanks in advance for any info

This info is not much - but I've never personally heard of the school. It has CIS and WASC accreditation which means the school is no fly-by-nighter. I will say that I'm not a fan of the IGCSE - but some people say the same of the American or IB system.

Don't laugh - but sometimes the website tells you a lot about the school. The website is a little clunky and the photo's tend to suggest that it is mainly a Thai student body. This does not tell you if it's a good school - but lets you know that it's not NIST or ISB.

Others may have more info on the school itself....

Thanks for the input, your assessment is similar to what I had thought.

Anyone ekes heard anything / got anything to add? I'm an experienced teacher but new to the international circuit so still figuring out what school and location would be a good fit.

Any input helpful!

No review is about as close as you get to a good review and with being in operation for 10 years thats plenty of time for reviews. The real reason though is that they are a third tier school that shouldnt even be called an IS, and thats why they have mainly escaped review as only expats married to a local or with Thai families who cant do better would work there.

Its a Thai school with Thai administration and ownership. CIS accreditation means nothing, They are only WASC accredited to year 7. There is nothing wrong with IGCSE, but understand its not a school leaving qualification and its an assessment program, more like the AP (and its international certificate), you still have to finish out with A levels (I could find no OfQual listing for them) and as a Thai Ministry school they issue their own diploma.
