Bromsgrove School?

Post by Murphy »

The reviews on the paid side are quite mixed so its hard to judge what it is actually like. Anyone got any opinions on the life of a teacher there I terms of workload and commitments? Is there a requirement yo be involved in the boarding school etc?

The school seems quite a way out of Bangkok so does that make it harder to enjoy the city / have a life outside school as a single female?

Any thoughts gratefully received!

They want to present the image of an elite prep school capitalizing on their UK institution cred. They have very high expectations and many consider them unrealistic, but if your a follower and a bobble head then you get by. They really do have issues, they just might not be issues for you. The positive reviews are admins or admin cheerleaders.
The workload is pretty intense, they take their pound of flesh, and they dont pay like ISB. You either advise two ASPs after school or your tutoring twice per week. You will be involved in the boarding program and supervise once per month. In addition you have to attend all meeting and all school functions.

They are on the outskirts of Bangkok, which means youd have a commute to the city center, but nothing you couldnt overcome on Fridays and the weekends. As a female though your not going to have much of a social life in Bangkok or Asia for that matter.
