is a ‘child-centered’ philosophy among many of
the expatriates, but this is really little more than ‘brown-nosing’ students
and parents in return for high salaries....
The
result of such hostility to discipline is an arrogant attitude
from many Sixth Form students,
who frequently absent themselves from lessons and tutorials at Shenzhen
College of International Education with
impunity, thanks to the connivance of staff.... Both the Academic Heads from 2008 to 2010 were bullies at Shenzhen College of International Education, involved
in constructive and unfair dismissal of key staff. Contracts cannot
therefore be guaranteed, despite the 2008 Contract Employment Law
of the PRC....
