applied at Rainbow
International School via
internet. Within minutes I received a call from the Director.
The red flags were immediate....
The
Director would not give a base salary, would not give the
WASC license number, inform status of housing, nor the email
of
the most recent teacher that held the position. After several
emails to Rainbow
International School,
I was informed the contract is only for one year---red flag!
In South Korea, regarded international schools require
a two-year contract. When an international school with a
WASC license trains a teacher, it is considered an investment.
It
is odd that....
Rainbow
International School's
base pay for a teacher with a Master's degree was quoted at
2.3 Korean won a month, plus a 500,000 housing stipend....
Rainbow
International School is
in Gangnam-the most expensive area in South Korea. This pay
is very low for Gangnam. The average pay for an international
school in South Korea in a rural area is....
