Comments: I served two years as the librarian at Mazapan School, a private school in La Ceiba, Honduras on the north coast which is owned by the Dole Corporation. The school has an 80 year history and is closely tied to the history of the town and Standard Fruit (Dole) Company. I thought I would be doing development work when I first took the contract. I could not have been more wrong. Mazapan School is not just an accredited American School. It is an excellent school! I was amazed at....

The climate allows for a lot of outdoor activities which ranged from soccer to drawing classes at the foot of a mango tree. We flew kites and put on Mardi Gras parades at Mazapan School . We wrote poetry and put on puppet plays....
