Comments: The
students at the International School of the Hague are great,
especially if you are used to teaching in national schools.
They are friendly
and mostly quite motivated. There are no major disciplinary
problems, but when they do surface, they tend to be dealt
with in a rather relaxed manner.
With
the present structure, students who have misbehaved are reported
to the Head of
Year. It then depends entirely on the particular Head
of Year how the student will be dealt with and every Head
of Year is different. There is no real clear message
to the students at International School of the Hague (or to
the teachers) what type of....
International School of the Hague has grown and will
continue growing (it’s
moving to an amazing new building in 2006) but it still
seems to work with the logistics of when it was a very
small school.
Things
are not efficiently organized in a high-tech computerized manner.
We still have subject / comment
slips which we have to handwrite and file in rickety
filing cabinets.
