Comments: European School of Trieste, Italy required a teacher for K2 pre-school children between 5 and 6. I would be working with another woman and we would be working with 20 children who were Italian. School starts at 8.30 and finishes at 4. A precise schedule was set out and I was advised that the children had already begun to read and write and to do number activities within 10. I was to be paid 1,300 for 9 months. I was to be paid during the Christmas and Easter holidays and any other short holiday during the school year. However, over the summer break I would not be paid. I was to eat with the children and therefore have free school lunch and they would rent me an apartment for 300 pm. inclusive heating.

I first won the position to work in European School of Trieste and I was very excited. The school in the first instance said I should come over in August and sort the work permit out once I arrived....
