Comments: Enka Okullari has
its problems, but many of these seem to come from the position
it finds itself in as a Turkish school trying
to operate at the international level, rather than as a reflection
on the director or administrators personally, e.g the requirement
to submit lesson plans for every single lesson (not taken very
seriously in the senior school, but a requirement nonetheless)
and the conflict between the notion of Enka Okullari as being
an English-language school for many subjects, and the fact
that many teachers refuse to comply with this.
The academic standards at Enka Okullari are a problem, though, I would agree.
If you want to enjoy stimulating discussions with your students,
you will meet resistance here because this is not the way things
are done in most Turkish schools, and, I suspect, despite the
talk, in a lot of classes at Enka. There are also very frequent....
