Comments: Like
many international schools, the International School of Dakar
(ISD) is stepping outside of the popular
local culture. My classroom
is in our newest construction, where I have a view of the ocean,
a field, the playground, and other International
School of Dakar Senegal buildings.
Our staff members are socially and professionally collaborative.

In
my
first month at International
School of Dakar, Senegal itself was
the most challenging. The florescent green sewage that fills
streets in the poor
neighborhoods outlying Dakar, and the barefoot Talibets children,
who line the corners and streets with begging tin cans, were
enough to set me to tears when I returned to my apartment
after work. It remains hard to accept that people usually
want more than what they are offered or what the average....
