Comments: Daegu International School provides Korean national insurance, which, similar to systems in the US, require co-pay for various treatments. The local hospital is clean and well run, and has an international desk which is staffed with an English-speaking receptionist and doctors. The receptionist will accompany you throughout the hospital providing translation as necessary. Additionally, Daegu International School matches a 4.5 percent contribution of each teacher’s salary to a national retirement system which is then returned to the teacher when leaving Korea.

While there have been no professional development opportunities this year at Daegu International School, next year several days have already been arranged, and teachers are encouraged to take college courses online to support their positions and to maintain their certifications.....
