I've read through the reviews about American School Doha and have a few things to point out... American School Doha is a demanding place to work, and I agree with the assessment of the on-site PD... Teachers at American School Doha are exposed to... Collaboration is a key component at American School Doha with teachers given time on Tuesday afternoons to work in teams... The American School Doha is migrating to a 1-to-1 laptop program, specifically using Windows computers in the high school, much to the chagrin of the Mac fanboys and fangirls that are highly resistant to change... The American School Doha just graduated its first IB class and offers an AP curriculum as well... As for Qatar, where American School Doha is located, granted there's not much to it. It's entirely desert and doesn't afford people lots of outdoor activities that one might expect in Europe or other parts of Asia. However... What would I caution people about American School Doha? Getting things done in Doha takes time... Ultimately, American School Doha is not a bad place to be. The majority of teachers remain for at least a third year, and some have been there for 10+... |
