think other than having a rather impossible workload I did not
receive any support from administration when it came to feedback
or encouragement at Sekolah
Pelita Harapan....
I
did not know if I was doing well or poorly according to them.
We had one mini-evaluation in the first few
months of arrival, but that was it. No one checked in on us and
there was zero encouragement. I found it got to be rather discouraging
at Sekolah
Pelita Harapan.
I think the main reason for this is that everyone is spread way too
thin....
The
other thing is: Sekolah
Pelita Harapan is
a National Plus school, so half the staff are Native Indonesians
which can make for an interesting
balance....
Due
to the fact that the expat staff receive
a completely different package than the locals at Sekolah
Pelita Harapan,
there was underlying tension....
