Fingerprint scans

Post by clio »

I am curious to know how many of you have to scan a finger when signing in and signing out for a school day. We were told at a faculty meeting today that we would have to do so in the very near future. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
What's next? Random drug tests for teachers?

One of my previous schools had this for the canteen only - but it was run via a private company so it was just to make sure that parents pay for the food that their own kids eat and not for other kids food.....

I guess that things such as this state how the admin might think....

at my current school, we have fingerprint scanners.
schools do it for a number of reasons, and achieve the same thing in different ways too, e.g. passcards, teacher codes, etc...
i wouldn't worry too much about it. schools have to keep records of attendance for teachers and administrators - by order of gov't or by order of board/biz manager.

personally, i hate the idea of random drug testing.
