School in Bogota, Colombia??

Post by tritri »

Does anyone have any info on working at Colegio los nogales in Bogota?
Expectations, working hours, liveable salary + enough to save?, life/work balance etc?

Also how much does it rain outside of the rainy months?

Thanks :)

Colegio los Nogales has a great reputation and pays well for Colombia. I don't have any specifics as its been two years since Ive been there. The location is decent and there are tons of nice places to live in the area in North Bogota.

Bogota rains year rain and can get cold. I remember getting off the plane in June and thinking, dam this place is cold. But I didnt care, because Bogota is totally awesome.

I don't think their salary has moved in those two years but living costs have. You should be fine if you are single. But it doesn't pay as well as the Anglo.

Travel in Colombia is becoming ridiculously expensive.

Anglo, CNG and English all pay better...

Bogotá is amazing, a phenomenal city; but the rain DOES get one down (and la niña the past couple of years has made the rainy seasons--the majority of the year--more tiring).

Traditional school. If you are progressive, you may not adjust.

There are reviews here. Read them.
