Attesting Documents

Post by twoteachers »

I'll be in the US for 6 weeks this summer. Do you think that is enough time to get birth certificates and my marriage license attested?

Check your local courthouse to find out about the process. It might be easy, but it might not be, and there might be things you can do in advance that will speed up the process.

I use authxperts.com

They are not cheap but they are good at what they do.

It depends if you mean notarization or certification by a notary than yes its plenty of time. You could get them done in a day. Most agencies will certify/attest to them for an additional fee, and you can get this done by mail.

If by attestation you mean an apostile. As performed by the SOS in your state. it depends how many resources you want to put into it. Apostiles can be done sometimes ona walk in basis, but you have to travel to the SOSs office. if you do it by mail, it depends how busy they are, but 4-6 weeks is a realistic time frame.
