I have been looking at a couple of schools in Saudi Arabia BUT
after doing some research on various forums- it seems that most people
hated their time there.
Has anyone on this forum ever been there ?
I read that it is a stiffling/suffocating/restrictive place for a woman ?
I also read that the religious police are a real pain and often ask ladies to cover their hair!
Is this true or over-exaggerated stories ?
It is so hard to know what to believe!
HELP !!
Saudi Arabia/ Worst place to teach on Earth ?
I wouldnt
Its well known on this forum, I dont speak well of middle eastern typed regions. There are too many problems and horror stories to be dismissed or ignored. I would never work there again, and wouldnt advice anyone else either. Even if the school is GREAT, its still set in the middle of Hades.
I can only imagine its worse for woman.

I have heard that some people thought it was fine (of course none of them have been single females).
As a single female, you should really consider Asia. Much less repressive.

I guess it really depends on what you're after. There are some good schools but what would your life be like?
I considered Jeddah before, I fancied doing some diving there and it was more relaxed than Riyadh, but I ended up taking a job elsewhere.
I know single women that have enjoyed a couple of years there, mainly in Jeddah or near the Bahrain escape route, but after that it's got to them. I know others that hated it completely. Hmmm, not really much help then.
