Many thanks for the replies, I feel somewhat better knowing that it should only take two weeks to get the Visa. I am still waiting for the letter from MFA, but have been told it should be any day.

Has anyone worked in Semey City? To me it looks like it is going to be a wonderful experience in both living in Semey and Kazakhstan.

Was offered a job at a school in Kazakhstan, this was in May. Would anyone know how long it takes to get a Work Visa? I have been told that I should have something in July but am not too sure how long it will take once I get the offer letter from the MFA office. I have a contract with a start date of late August.

Anything I should bring, clothing. I am from Texas and am not used to the cold. I am looking forward to all that Kazakhstan has to offer. Anything that I need to know about this country as well?
