Thanks for the tips!
I wouldn't have thought to move further away from the camera so my hands are showing....and I'm hoping that my cats don't choose my interview time to start tearing through the house schreeching and knocking things over....

Thanks, all!
@wiseteach-good luck to you! Let us know how it goes. FWIW, I would
cancel going to the fair if this school offered me a position, with no hesitation. I already have a good idea of what would be offered, and it is doable. I'd be out the airfare, but it was less than $200, and I'd save on the hotel costs.

Skype interview advice
Any advice for Skype interviews? I have one scheduled and it will be a new experience for me. I'm more nervous about this than the upcoming job fair....

Thank you, wrldtrvlr123.
It is good to hear that there were plentiful spec. ed positions at Search BKK. I'm hoping that continues through Search Cambridge, although I highly suspect that a lot of the positions will be gone before then....And a lot of schools in which I am interested aren't even on the list for Cambridge.
I have in my favor the fact that I am enthusiastically dreaming of multiple parts of the world. When I began this journey, it was because I wanted to live and work in Europe. That's not so much the case now!!! I mean, if the situation were right, I think we'd be willing to consider ALMOST anywhere. You only live once.
Thanks again, everyone for your helpful and insightful comments.

Demand for special education teachers
At the present time, there are quite a few special education teaching positions listed. There are no fewer than30 positions I would be more than happy to interview for. I'm sure that number will begin to change dramatically as the Search Cambridge fair approaches, but I'm interested in learning about others' experiences when seeking a spec. ed position overseas.
I have about 6 years of experience teaching special education (both pull-out classes in English and History and co-teaching both subject areas at the HS). Two years of that experience were with grades K-8. I am certified in special education, elementary, and secondary English. I have additional extensive experience working with individuals with a variety of disabilities.
I've got a non-teaching - but very supportive :) - spouse, but I'm open to many different locations and I'm very excited by the possibilities. Is this just a pipe dream, or can I make it happen with a NT spouse and no international school experience?
Thanks for any input!

Search Cambridge-Travel Alert--and a question
I just registered (very late) for the Cambridge Search fair. If you are going and have not yet made travel plans (although I don't know who besides me would leave it until the last second), Jetblue is having a fare sale....Many cities in the US to Boston are only $39 each way :)
I had planned to use Amtrak to save money, but this ended up being an even more economical route. The plus side is that my trailing spouse can come to Boston with me and do some sight-seeing because, you know, Boston is so lovely this time of year....
Now, down to brass tacks. What do most people wear to the job fair? I'm assuming professional dress for the sign-up sessions and interviews, but I don't want to be caught over (or under) dressed for those events or the other planned sessions.
Thanks!

American School in London
Does anyone have any information about this school, other than what can be found on Search's website or the school's website? There don't seem to be any reviews posted on ISR.
Thanks in advance!!

trailing spouse
Ichiro, you stated "trailing spouse types have to move on." Could you give me more information about that?
I am one of those poor souls with a non-teaching spouse (He is actually a history teacher, but not K-12 and not certified) and ISB is one of the schools at the top of my list (along with 2999+ other hopeful teachers, I suppose...)

The last time I checked, the Hyatt was full. Unless they have released more rooms or there were cancellations, your decision may have been made for you :)
