Just make sure your TV overseas was NTSC capability. I would strongly recommend getting a multi-region DVD player. I bought one through the US embassy strore, but more recently I went to my local electornics shop here in Qatar and they had some that weren't locked into place. Perhaps this is wrong but I like watching 3$ bootleg DVD's.... A perk of overseas life??!!

Don't go if you have kids. The school is 90 percent Spanish speaking.

If you are single, want to learn Spanish, travel and or drink. Go for it!!

Roosevelt= Used to be the international school, most expats left during the Shining Path years, hence lots of Peruvians. Lots of animosity between local hires and overseas hire teachers.

Markham= BIG Peruvian school, hope you speak Spanish.

Newton= Smaller Private school, some embassy kids, as this is where they live. The DEA kids go here as well as they want their kids to learn Spanish.

Christian School= Actually the most international school. Growing, small space, NICE kids, low pay.

Good luck. If you are single, speak Spanish, leave school at 3:30pm, easy going, Peru could be a great place. It has the most AMAZING travel opportunists! Good luck!

Roosevelt is 80% Peruvian, and 94% Spanish speakers. Other schools are more. Just left last year. Awesome country..... Bad schools!! Rich Peruvians are not nice people.....

Reviews by the embassy folks of lots of countries. There is usually a little bit about the schools we all teach in. Interesting reading about all the places we want to go next.

I guess for me I would rather have the teachers and admin. at every school be in charge of what and how it is taught. To me this is the beauty of the US system. (Or it used to be before Bush and no child left behind)

Criteria, assessment, blah, blah, blah.

School should be FUN! Learning cool stuff, growing up, getting organized, and becoming responsible. Why over prescribe with all these tags and jargons??
