I had an interview with them...
my impression is they want everyone on this monkey masters course, so they can fob you off with low pay.
here's my brief experience with them:
After I applied they made me fill in expected salary, which i did, and I got the expected salary from the amount they were quoting to the recruitment agency.
immediate response was, could you go down? I said , i was willing to neg. a week passed, the interview was set, the question came again but with a twist, would you take less and consider a masters??
then had interview - it went welll, 4 weeks later, i got offer for 2nd interview, with question AGAIN of expected salary. I pointed out politely i had send her (HR) it on 3 seperate occasions ( 2 emails and once on their application ) and also i wasnt that keen on doing an MA., as I have one.
then
an email saying , ' we cant meet your expectations,' we will put you on an a list
so my impression?, obsessed with money, want bums on seats, don't care who. it is..

Re: Rafflesia Education Group
I had an interview with , I didnt think they were very professional at all. very vague about discount for kids and living cost, I was quoted 500 to 1500 ringgits!! depending on living style. which , ok, is true, but this guy knew I had a family...so probably accom wouldn't be that cheap.
I got an offer, but I turned it down.
hope someone has infor on a positive exp with them

saying no nicely to a contract signed?
Hi everyone..
so i agreed to a contract 2 weeks ago, and signed it ...and sent most of my other docs for visa too. HR was rubbish , no response...then re-read contract, realised what principal had promised wasnt all in - minor detail actually, so asked for new one. I received new contract last week. In the mean time, i have had another interview in a country i really want.
If i get the location/country I want, how do i get out of the first contract?
Can I? Feel totally sh*t about this already...
Yes I probably can, will probably be your answers... but if I can live with myself ? right?

I just recently applied to yangon academy, there are no reviews in the paid section and little much a=else on google, has anyone got any recent info on it please. I saw this post, but is from 2012, and it goes off topic somewhat!
thanks

To tang chao, did they come to your school with the kids, or have them during their current time there?
May be your school is an exception

Re: Hopeful tales of single mothers being hired?
Unfortunately shadow jack I am English / history ms/ hs teacher, but I do have great exp in other areas, which is probably why I got the 6 interviews to start with. One even with BSM. Ha, don't all start correctly my grammar and punctuation btw.
I can't expand horizons on where to live cos husband lives in japan so I need to stay near and afford child care, hence S E Asia.
As for pay, h I am starting to realise my pay is good and exceeds/ matches other schools, after 2 years of looking.
Re , discussion of pay, whilst it may be great pay in US, Aus, it is shit pay in the UK. My sister after teaching for 12 years in UK, took home 3500 US dollars .
Another question, psyGuy, u mentioned japan, is japan sought after to work as an IT? This is an option for me, but , here is where I am realistic! Most of the schools are very North American in curriculum and hiring, and as a ms/ hs history trained UK teacher, with an MA in English ... I don't stand a chance.
So, to sum everything up, this is what I will take away from my post
Lower my expectations,
leave teaching,
stay where I am,
or get a new husband who is a teacher and has no dependants;)

Re: Kolej Tuanku Jaafar
Probably, but I know he was put off by my dependant. Middle of nowhere I think, google it non maps and read the reviews. At least he was upfront about salaries. But can't completely rem all now.

Re: Kinabalu International School
Well if u look it up on google, I wouldn't say it is a new school. Been around a fair while, recently had it's 40 the anniversary. kK is a bit like Penang, but not as popular or as nice, some might say. The school , I don't know, ? u r right, someone must, but KK, I liked a lot.

SuzieQ, I appreciate the reply, but I feel your comments don't answer my original q's. You said u know people, but your comments are personal, having not worked there yourself.
Btw - I am not working to travel. In fact I am giving up my relationship, to some extent, to work in a job I love. And I have lived in ASia for most of my adult life, ( I am 37 now) and your comments about ' things don't happen like this in developed countries' , seem a little bitter to me.
If u are bitter, ok, of course.
I just wanted info on this particular school!

I have read the bad reviews about this school , but that was under the old head, pre 2013. Since then there has been a new head. Can anyone comment on working conditions now at the school, and the general feeling? Also is the pay ok in relation to other tier 2 schools? Are fees paid for dependants? Thanks to anyone with info.
