Well, I guess I am not out. You are the last person I saw this happen with, but I am certainly not directing it just at you. Honestly, I feel like many people on this forum have jumped on this "band wagon" to make fun of/belittle Psyguy when all he has tried to do is put his thoughts/perspective across on this forum. Whether anyone acknowledges it or not, he does have a lot of information to share and much of it I have found helpful. Who cares if he looks it up or wants to respond to all the questions. Of course I look for other perspectives too, and everyone contributing makes it all the more well rounded. I have to say that if I was attacked that way he has been it would have been difficult for me to continue. Yet, PsyGuy has consistently taken the high road, even responding in a respectful manner when people have been rude to him and shared his thoughts without being distracted by so many people putting him down. He gets a lot of praise too and think puts in an honest effort to assist people as they are moving through this world. Is he perfect, no...but really, none of us are. I recognize that I don't have the power to change anyone's opinion, but I do ask that the forum readers at least consider their words and how they might affect a person and those reading these demoralizing posts. And I do say this genuinely, I do hope you have a nice weekend also.

Psyguy and psychbean. I very much appreciate yours and other people's information and questions. i always learn a lot. I also don't take the info I read on here to an angry level. I don't think it is worth getting upset about a post. "Take what you like and leave the rest." Life is too short to be hostile and I don't see Psyguy as trying to be malicious in any way. He's just sharing what is his knowledge base and his point of view, which may have opposing opinions and that is okay too. That's it and I'm out.

Hello I am going over there but not to that school. According to search assoc the pay there is between 39-42k, they provide housing and you work 200 days. I have not heard anything negative about this school. Good luck to you!

To Higgsboson and those that accept multiple offers. I am very new to this and just accepted my first job. Don't you have to pay search fees though if you accept multiple jobs and then decline later? Or do you just apply own without search? I'm not judging, just confused because I thought the fee to pull out of the contract was very expensive.

The job fairs initially in my mind are very important to go to. Even if you don't have an interview set up, you have an opportunity to meet different school hiring teams and introduce yourself in person at least. Then if they like you, they will request an interview with you. Good luck!

Thanks Psyguy. I did try getting her on, but the school had a strict rule that you must be credentialed. She taught elementary and then was asst professor for a university. She has a double masters in asia pacific studies and an MBA. I know of a few schools that aren't as strict on credentialing now, so I will have her try those avenues first and then see if I can get a visa for her and do tutoring/subbing if that doesn't pan out. Thanks for your dedication on this site Psyguy!

Thanks Sid, that is very helpful. I have a doctorate in education (not an admin cred though)so maybe that helped play in my favor. I am excited to have this new opportunity!

Do you have to have an admin credential to be an admin?

When I interviewed, I was surprised to be offered an admin position. I am taking it but wondered if this experience will now allow me to get other admin positions or if I need to have an admin credential. Also, if I did need a credential, could I get certified in the country I am going to or does it have to be from where I live?

Thanks!

Ok thank you both. That is very helpful. I have heard tutoring is quite lucrative there too which could be an option for her.
