Ah, yes. the tax return. Yep, will have that for 2014, so that MIGHT work. However, wouldn't I have to use that address on the license? It seems like any other address I had on it would require me to show proof of residency for that particular address. Thanks for advice, everyone! I will ponder this.

I have been teaching overseas off and on for the last 20 years and have managed to renew my NC license without much trouble, but my situation has now changed. I sold my house, so no longer pay property tax, etc....I basically have no real address anymore. And apparently NC is being a real stickler for proof of residency. aaargh!!! Any ideas??? How do people deal with this??? Advice welcome!

Zimbabwe is in constant turmoil. A bit of research can fill you in on the political situation there. To be honest, it is kind of shocking that the original poster seems to have no knowledge of the situation. I am not sure why anyone would want to work there at this point in time.

I imagine no housing is given ( high housing costs)..also, assume you will pay 20-25% taxes....NYC is expensive. Great city, but expensive. Not everyone is dying to live in NYC. Not everyone who teaches overseas is in this for money alone.

There is a huge difference between working at a US international school that is looking for an international staff and a school that has hired people from out of the country to fill hard to fill jobs. I would recommend doing a lot of research.

All I can tell you is that current director, Caroline Jacoby, is fabulous. I worked for her at a different school.

there is an exceptionally good vet in HCMC, in District 2. Truly the best vet I have ever come across, including those i had in the USA. His name is Dr. Nghia.
I really recommend using a pet transport service to get your dog to HCMC. Yes, it costs, but it is really worth it. I have to ask--will you already have housing when you get to HCMC? If you don't, your dog will have to go in a kennel, etc. I don't think a hotel will let you have a dog in the room. I have moved my pets from the us many places, and i tend to leave them with a family member who then puts them on the plane (or hands them over to the pet transport service) and then I pick them up on the other end. The last time I tried to have them on the plane with me, I was called 3 days before and told that there was not room that day. That CAN happen. Luckily my brother could keep them for a couple of days and then he put them on the plane. There is simply no guarantee that your dog will be able to go on your flight. You would most likely be contacted a few days before, but there isn't really anything you can do --doubtful you will be able to change your own flight.
Note: you will still most likely have to drive the dog to the nearest international airport city--the pet transport folks would have to arrange road transport for the dog to the nearest international airport.

The salary quoted is in Singapore dollars, I found out. I knew that teachers get paid in Singapore dollars, but it seems like Search wants the salary to be listed in US dollars on the form. Bit of a difference (25%) between US and Sg dollars.
