I'm looking for any experience that people have living in Montevideo. Cost of living, quality of life, ease in getting utilities, ease of transportation, etc. I'm reading very different information regarding cost of living and the quality of the local beaches.

I will be interested in hearing about life in Montevideo as well

I know this post is from ages ago, but Montevideo is a great place to live, mostly safe, as developed as you are going to get in a developing country. It's a little boring and the weather is not great in the winter (rainy), but otherwise it's an excellent place to be.
