I'm in Europe, where there is plenty of fresh air, but zero savings.

Any suggestions where to move next year in order to get both?

I've got allergic rhinitis (induced by a posting in Istanbul) and a low boredom threshold (so please don't recommend Singapore).

Any responses would be much appreciated.

Countries that come to mind:
Japan, Tanzania, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, S. Africa possibly.

Hard to get as clean air as you get in Europe or N.America though. I assume you are single but what about Prague or eastern Europe (Romania, Poland). Most countries that pay a lot, come at a cost (pollution, crime, etc)

Santiago, Chile is quite polluted. A friend of mine has talked about seeing the smog roll up the valley. Perhaps there are other cities with well-off international schools in the country, but I don't know of them.

I'd say Japan if you stick to towns with more than a million people (so they are more likely to have an international school) but less than 5-6 million (so you can actually save some money).

I'm in Japan now... The weather is nice (if a bit hot), the water is potable, the scenery is gorgeous, and I should be able to save a little money (not middle-east money, of course, but enough to make me happy).

Good tip, I'd love to do Japan, I tried before, but it seems damned hard to get an IB job there. Lots of competition.

Venezuela looks interesting, v.diverse environment, though I'm not keen on macho culture. How much you estimate a single can save yearly in a school there?
