My experience at Malmo International School has been a mixed bag... Malmo International School is part of the Swedish public school system. This means that everything that happens here happens with public money. This is good as it flattens out the sense of haves and have-nots amongst students. It’s bad because the public money is quite limited... The student population at Malmo International School is one of the most international I’ve ever had the pleasure of teaching... SIS will become Malmö International School in 2013 as it moves to a new building in the city center... Malmo International School is accredited in the PYP and expects to gain MYP accreditation in the coming years. Unfortunately, in a classic case of buggy-before-horse, the school internally hired... The Malmo International School is largely about appearances... The leadership of Malmo International School is the other reason for my moving on... Malmö is the most cosmopolitan city in Sweden -- if not in Scandinavia -- thanks to this country’s famously open-door immigration policy... I made enough at Malmo International School to get by, pay off some bills back home, go out to eat a couple times a week, and travel a bit on holidays... Housing is not included in the package at Malmo International School. It’s notoriously difficult to find a flat in Malmö...
