Venezuela Schools

There are a lot of rumors that the government is going to turn all private schools into government owned schools. Many people in Venezuela are very worried about this and what Chavez is going to do next.

The government intends to spread revolutionary doctrine throughout the land - including private institutions. However, there is of yet no word on closing down private schools. The ministry will train teachers in the Bolivarian curriculum and then teachers are entrusted to implement what they've learned. The plan was to go ahead with this a bit over a year ago but the ministry was shot down by the public and private institutions. Round two is coming up soon. I don't think that the international schools will be hit considering that the new Chavista elite is swarming to these schools. I wouldn't worry...
