If You Had it to Do Over again

I'm leaving international teaching this year with over 15 years overseas under my belt, with no pension, no health insurance, no home to call my own. If I had it all to do over again, would I have gone overseas instead of staying back home, teaching in a public school that offered a retirement along with health insurance? For me the answer is, YES! I would eagerly do it all over again. I wouldn't trade my overseas experiences for a life of trudging through endless years of teaching in my home country, all just to receive a pension.

I'm curious to know how other teachers who are or were on the international circuit fell about their choice to go overseas.

My response isnt entirely fair for two reasons. First, I landed being able to do both as I ended up in DODEA. Second, I doubt I would have lasted for an entire career in DE. I started in IE early in my edu career. I was at the point where it was move into IE or leave edu entirely.
