What is your favourite 'thing' to teach and why?
Strange question, love to find out what teachers are thinking.

Particle motion, as we pull out the liquid nitrogen and on one day its raining ping pong balls.

Easy, teaching a child to read is the single greatest thing a teacher can achieve and I am fortunate enough to have done it many times. Never gets old seeing the joy of the children when they can engage with the story. Bloody hard work but totally worth it in the end.

Perspective & empathy. Especially important given the demographics of most international school students.

Introducing new tech. When they apply it, they all light up.

my favourite thing to teach ?
Students
I never understood those that go into admin to get away from the kids. In my view, they're what makes the job worth doing - if I'd wanted an office job, I'd have gone into banking/IT like my college roomies and earned a lot lot more.
They still think that I'm mad for going into teaching.

I'm pretty sure most people go into admin for the money (especially in IT) rather than to get away from the students, especially since it's important to have a retirement plan if you do IT for the long haul.

Discussion
Some of them get into leadership to get out of the classroom and the students, and some so that they can go to the toilet when they want to.
