Hi folks. I am new to the IS application process. Can anyone tell me if it is recommended to list your Skype name on your resume? What about your time zone? What is the standard? Sorry if they are dumb questions, but I really don’t know.

I don't know that a Skype name is standard, but I don't know that it would hurt.

I would leave off the time zone, though. You schedule based on the interviewer's time, and if you are sitting in your kitchen in a suit jacket and pyjama bottoms at 3 am, you can join the club. We have all had experiences like that.

I would put all contact info so Skype name would be appropriate. I also put my work facing Twitter and I know people put links to professional blogs etc.

Put your Skype name in the same place as the rest of your contact information with your email address. If you wanted to put your time zone (in the format of UCT +- X hours) you could, its not going to mean much recruiters will still ask you what your interview schedule is like, where your located, and what your Skype name is. You schedule interviews based on the interviewers time, which means your doing interviews late at night.

As long as you look professional for the camera frame you can wear anything. Just dont pull a captain underpants.

And please use a professional Skype name. Candykitten42 and Jazzercizer really don't promote the profile you're trying to project (I hope).

I'd simply use either my full name or my email address as my Skype name. Use a professional picture. I'dn't bother about putting the timezone.

Assuming the email is a professional name as well, I saw a candidates resume whos resume email was "fluffykittymuffins", which is either very naive or very, very concerning for baked goods.
