Non Certified Spouse Personal Statement

First of all, my wife is not certified in USA or Canada but she is certified to teach Mandarin Chinese in China. She only has experience teaching Chinese students however. UNI considers her un-certified, which is fine because she won't be able to work full time; we have an infant.

Anyway, UNI provides the opportunity for the non-certified spouse to make a personal statement about why they want to live overseas. She wants to emphasize the opportunity this would give her to get into teaching. I'm thinking an administrator would see that and think if she doesn't get an opportunity to teach, she will get bored and want to leave.

Generally, what are administrators looking for in the non certified spouse's personal statement?

They arent looking for anything in a spousal personal statement, at best no obvious, glaring, danger warning signs. The danger including a spousal personal statement of getting into teaching is that it may be viewed as some kind of package accommodation that the IS has to provide a classroom opportunity to hire you. Just keep it simple, your spouse is going to be caring for your infant child doing the parent thing. Do the teaching side entry with the IS once youre their and established, and have built some political currency.
