How long do tier 1 schools typically take to let you know the outcome of the final interview?

It's not really helpful (and I'm sure that you know this already) but the answer basically ranges from minutes...to never.

In general, Tier 1 schools will be somewhat better about this than other schools but admin types are not known for their HR skills. I would say if you haven't heard anything in a week then reach out to someone you interviewed with and ask about the status of the position. Good luck!

I'd say @wrldtvler123 is right.

I'd say more than a week and you either didn't get the job, or they are waiting for someone else's answer first. I'd say the exception to that is they just started their holiday, but if they're interviewing you early (Nov/Dec) it's probably a position they want hire for quickly.

In the past, I've always heard from tier 1 schools within a day or two. Just wondering..

Who did you interview with?
If it was the HOS (executive leadership) than minutes to a day or two at most. If it was senior leadership and they cant actually hire you than a week at most. Passed that they are waiting for someone elses response or you didnt get the offer.
Its that time of the cycle where things tend to happen faster rather than slower. The rule is when an IS wants you they act like they want you. If they arent acting like it then they dont really want you (at that moment).

Just heard from them and have to do one more. It's the HoS and HS principal.

So it was a week because it wasnt the final interview and they were interviewing other candidates. this interview is with the HOS then, I would expect an offer if they are going to make one to come quickly.

MMV - some schools when it is the head of school it is the final interview. If with a principal first, the HOS might be the second interview. Third interview might be with the department and the division coordinator or vice-principal/principal. The third might be back again with another person.

Each school has their own system that works for them. We have interviewed in the past with only the head, with principal and head, with head and assistant head, with coordinators and department teams - there is no one model.

Good luck as you go through the process!

Would you work at a Christian school if you are offered a five-figure USD salary (plus benefits) per month?

Probably. How Christian is the school? How Christian are you? Would the answers to those questions be likely to negatively impact your enjoyment of the experience on a significant basis?

Is it a good school in general?

I'm pretty much areligious but I'd consider it if it was a truly great opportunity (and I wouldn't have to pretend too much, on a regular basis).

They are pretty religious and mass attendance is compulsory. I can say I’m at the other end of the spectrum and the school is not-for-profit with good reputation.

Hmm. Tough call. If it's a step up in your career and/or financially a significant improvement (and/or your threshold for hypocrisy/paying lip service to someone else's beliefs is fairly high) it's worth serious consideration.

I would but I dont have a problem with Christian ethos. You said "mass" so Im assuming you dont know much about the various forms of christian practice or the IS is Catholic. In which case it really depends on a few factors:

1) What is this mass obligation? Is it daily or weekly? Is it a 15 minute mass during duty hours or is it on the weekends and closer to an hour?
2) When you say "pretty religious" is that the actual ethos of the whole IS or is it mostly leadership/ownership? There are a lot of religious (catholic) ISs/DSs that seem pretty extreme, but for the majority of the staff and students its just another thing they have to do, kind of like meetings.
3) How tolerant are you of your own hypocrisy? Some ITs can put on their mask and smile there way through anything and could not care less what it is they are doing. Some ITs have a real hard time with principals that grate against their own beliefs. There are a lot of "deeply" religious people who do not practice what they profess to believe in.
4) Do you get the sense the IS respects your beliefs, or that conversion at some point is an expectation? If leadership is fine with you just going through the motions thats a lot different than expecting you to subscribe to their tenets and adapt them in your whole life, and if you dont your life gets less happy.
5) Is this a position you can retire out of? That kind of coin is hard to get around, 5 figures/mth is 100K+/yr salary thats Swiss or Kingdom coin, add OSH to that and that can be a very strong incentive to have to walk away from. Especially, if it does something for the utility of your resume.
You would have a harder time with your marketability if you left that appointment especially with BSs which often require previous salary, and many of them wouldnt be able to compete with those expectations and may well skip your application entirely. You are also going to have to answer the inevitable question if you do leave at some point the "Why?" as an IS with that kind of coin is very highly upper tier and a reasonable place to work, if it doesnt work out its going to be a hard sell in the future why it didnt work out wasnt because of you.

wow, can't say i've ever heard of a school offering that much outside of switzerland or saudi - if you can, would you say on the paid side?

being an atheist myself, i've worked domestically at christian schools and islamic schools - never long term - and can't really say it was pushed on me. i imagine it would be a bit more difficult internationally, especially if it is a boarding school.

good luck, and congrats!
