AAS Ordered Closed!

Putin has ordered it closed, as per Politico. Hope all the teachers get out ok. We were hired there in 2015 but because of their invasion of the Ukraine, Canadians were being denied visas. Maybe that'll change once Drumpf takes the reins (and promptly gives them to Putin), but maybe not.
Good luck out there!

Interesting, the next few days will probably see a lot of action and flurry. There isnt much to worry about at this point AAS Moscow is closed for the winter holiday until the 9th for students. They could "close" the IS for the upcoming week and not have it effect anything. AAS Moscow isnt the only AS in Russia, there is another one in St. Petersburg that no action was taken against.
It says more about Russias response, which is to beat up on some school children and closing a vacation/holiday property when the US expelled Russian diplomats.

there is an AAS St. Pete, same school different campus. Or do you mean another? I would think both would be closed...Hope it's only temporary...

@Vandsmith
Yes, AAS St. Petersburg, same school different campus, but the report specifically cited AAS Moscow. It could be both.

According to a Russian foreign ministry spokesperson, the news is false. Another example of media over-enthusiasm.

This is not accurate. Just more fake news emanating from our illustrious mainstream media.

Appears the AAS-Moscow IS closure was in error.
