Applying for positions Overseas and DODEA

I've completed the teacher ready course and am applying for positions. Currently, according to the FLDOE website my status of eligibility is ELIGIBLE for a professional 5 year teaching certificate. In Florida the process is to apply for schools and then do the background check before issuance of a professional certificate. The FLDOE website says that teachers not seeking Florida employment should do the background check before issuance of the certificate.

Should I go ahead and start applying for jobs now with only the status of eligibility? How about DODEA overseas, or do they need the professional certificate to be officially completed? Should I wait several weeks for the certificate to be finalized in possibly weeks or months to start applying?

Are there any current or former recruiters? What should I put on a resume? Any tips would be appreciated.

When are you going to start applying?

Its out of cycle for DODEA right now, the new cycle wont start until Marchish with renewal of EAS and then recruiting doesnt really start until Juneish (a little later for EUR, and a little earlier for DDESS).

You could wait a little while before doing your CRB, if you do it after the new year youll have a slightly longer certificate time and it wont have an impact on DODEA. If however youre looking at IE, your really out of time and want the FL credential in hand as part of your application package since peak recruiting starts in January, especially if you are going to a fair. The CRB and application review is still going to take you about a month or longer at this time of year.

The only factor that matters in terms of documents is done and not done, no one has time to read explanations, and a screen shot of credential eligibility, absence a CRB is still 'not done'. You dont know what your CRB will come back as (your file could be mixed up with someone else), many reasons could create delays. Get it off your to do list, get the CRB, apply for the formal credential, explanation not necessary.
