I know this fair has a bad reputation and a ramshackle group of schools currently scheduled to attend, but do you know if more schools sign up as it gets closer and/or if the schools in attendance often come with more than just one or two jobs? Any strategy for dealing with this fair or advice about it would be great. Beyond this, I am in a position where I have just begun the search for fall 2016 openings, so any overall advice with how to get some hits quick would be great. I would prefer not to go to London in April if I don't have to. TIA.

Not for this fair, what you see is whats going to be there, and while a few more ISs will attend and be added at the last minute, its going to be more of the same quality and kind of ISs. The EU ISs that do attend often require you to have an EU passport. Its for UK candidates primarily. The WE ISs usually come with only a couple vacancies and the other ISs (Asia, ME) come with more.

This fair is a lot more relaxed than the super fairs such as the winter LON. You will get invites from the hardship areas if your certification and vacancies match, but this is a fair where you walk in knowing who to talk to very quickly or in advance. Signup is essentially ques for only a handful of ISs. The high desire ISs will have only a couple vacancies that you either match with or you dont, and if they dont have your vacancy theres little use to que. Its for this reason there isnt a lot of stress. The feeling you get is that everything seems setup in advance.

Some ISs have no recruiting needs whatsoever. They are attending because its an easy fair to do nothing if its a convenient trip for a recruiter.

Which "high desire IS" might be there? European ones only?

Pretty much there are a handful of EU ISs most of them wont really be hiring.
