I like Golden Frog, but Astrill is the most popular.

Why would you need a VPN for Hong Kong? Things in Hong Kong are not blocked the way they are in Mainland China. Those two mentioned are pretty good if you're venturing into China from Hong Kong.

The LW posted that the use of the VPN is to access NetFlix, many VPNs allow you to mask the location you are accessing the network from.

I have used Torguard for the last 3 years. They have a stealth mode which works well for China especially when they do DPI crackdowns from time to time in China that take out Astrill more often than not.
The stealth mode gets under the great firewall of china using an encrypted http connection whereas Astrill use encrypted https which gets blocked when crackdowns happen.
Torrents are ok on some servers and you can usually track down a discount code by using google. They keep no logs and are based outside of the USA

Check out ProxMate plug-in for Firefox and Chrome. IIRC it has a Netflix option, don't use it for that personally so not exactly sure. But it unblocks a lot including YouTube, Comedy Central, and NBC, and it is faster since you aren't streaming through a third ..
