Note: I might being entering uncharted waters of ignorance with this post.
Are there any international schools open in Syria? If not, how long ago did they close?

A two minute Google search brought up -
Damascus Community School (closed after the American raid in Syria in 2008)
International School of Aleppo (closed in 2011 due to Civil War)
SABIS ISC Damascus, still open
I am sure you will find a lot more information if you search, whatever your reason is for looking.

I interviewed with ICARDA international school of Aleppo in 2011. The head was nice but I ended up taking an offer from somewhere else. 2 months later, I heard the school closed. And Aleppo itself is now completely destroyed I hear.
I wouldn't touch a SABIS school in any country.

Very unfortunate. I had friends working in Damascus who really loved it!

I too would not endorse a SABIS school, unless it was the only job in the city and you were getting married, and shed have to an amazing bride.
