My wife and I have always wanted to adopt, and now it's a couple years away. Does living overseas have any impact positive or negative on a couple's ability to do that?

Any personal experiences out there?

Friends adopted a baby while overseas. School gave leave, paperwork mostly done beforehand, things went smoothly.

I don't know that it impacts one way or another, but I would think it would be more of a positive.

When we lived in Malaysia there were many teachers who adopted. Some even returned to Malaysia to be able to do just that. They adopted two babies and then left after their two years were up.
