The content areas with the highest demand?

Hello everyone!
Some background info: I am a French native currently living in the U.S. with my American husband. We have no children and do not plan on having any for a while. However, we are very determined to move back to Europe and raise a family there. I have been living stateside for 3 years now and I am just getting more and more homesick. I am in my second year of teaching French and Spanish. My first year I taught social studies. My husband is getting out of the military this year and will finish his degree in social studies and education to become a teacher as well. Only once he is finished, we plan on applying to international schools and going to fairs.

My question is, inasmuch as there doesn’t seem to be a high demand for foreign language teacher (from what I’ve read on here), should I try to solely teach social studies for the couple of years to come? Would I have more of a chance of getting hired at one of the fairs if I have more experience teaching social studies? What are the content areas with the highest demand?

Thank you in advance for your input!
