What are options in London/England other than ASL for nonEU citizens?

In the city of London there is Southbank. Don't really know much about it.

There's also ACS (Hillingdon, Cobham, Forget the third campus) and TASIS. Honestly, they're not really in London as all four are significantly outside of the city (think 45 minute drive). From what I've heard, they all pay significantly less than ASL, and I believe that all of them are for-profit (not positive on that though). Some people I know who have worked at Cobham liked it and had for the most part good things to say about it. The Cobham campus is gorgeous, with great facilities as well.

Thanks for info. Aren't the ACS schools boarding schools?

No worries! I know ACS Cobham has a boarding for some of its students, but I'm not sure on the other two campuses.

Egham is the third ACS campus. The reviews on this site were all pretty accurate about the ACS group of schools, and TASIS, last time I checked. Salary would be your main consideration as none of the previously mentioned schools, outside of Southbank, pay anywhere near what ASL pays, and they are, indeed, for profit. Yes, Cobham campus is wonderful, but can you afford to live in the most expensive part of the UK on the salary they pay, unless you're a teaching couple and, even then, it's a stretch. Try asking the same question on the TES overseas teaching forum, where you can receive PMs and, perhaps, more specific information.

You can read the new policy here:

http://www.education.gov.uk/get-into-te ... z-usa.aspx

Regulated schools in England will hire foreign teachers in high need/demand teaching subjects, though in most cases they only offer local packages.
