Life outside of Jakarta

Was just wondering if anyone had experience living in Indonesia outside of Jakarta?

Jakarta is horrible, it takes forever to get anywhere. The only other place ive been in Indonesia is Bali, which I loved and is everything that Jakarta is not. It is getting more crowded and "busier" though.

We have friends that taught outside of Jakarta and it should have taken only an hour to drive there, but because of traffic, at times it took 5 hours. They said it was difficult to purchase western foods but things were very cheap.
The only story they told me about medical experiences is that my friend was pregnant there the first 5 months but didn't know she was pregnant. She had extreme morning sickness and went to multiple Dr's and they couldn't diagnose her for a few months!
