It is a school in transition. The new Head of School is making changes and trying to build a better environment for children. However, it is a very old school, as the staff are not current or young and certainly not progressive in their practices. Right now, emotions amongst staff, parents and teachers are high and I would even say the overall climate of the school is volatile. Three recent cases of abuse against children by staff have effected the community deeply.
While the pay is excellent and the city of Hamburg is wonderful, this is not a welcoming school nor is there any feeling of collegiality or community amongst staff members. The staff members are older and not current in their behavior management or academic practices and the students suffer because of this. This is a teacher centered school where the teachers voice their concerns and opinions regarding themselves constantly. Student needs are not a priority.

Thanks for the information Valencia. Abuse by staff is a big concern, let alone three cases. Do you know anything about the primary school? What would you estimate a salary for a master's/specialist degree with 8 years experience?
