Spain or Argentina

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this message but I am researching a possible move to an American school in either Spain or Argentina. If you have any input to the following questions I would appreciate it:
1. Which place is better for bringing young children (who will attend the school where I teach hopefully) and "trailing" spouse?
2. Can a trailing spouse work freelance with US clients from these countries?
3. Are American schools in these countries located in an urban area, specifically are they easily accessible by walking or transit?

thanks for any help with any of these questions.

THATS really Open

Well which place is better in what way? I mean they are in two VERY different regions. Personally I'd take Western Europe over South America.

In Spain a trailing spouse cant work legally without a work visa, and self sponsoring one is very expensive and difficult. With the current problems, it would be very hard to do. Sometimes schools will "create" a position for a trailing spouse if they want the person bad enough, but Spain like the rest of Western Europe seldom has trouble finding qualified people to work there.

American schools are usually located in Capitol cities or large metropolitan/cosmopolitan areas. Places like Madrid and Barcelona. Public transportation is very nice. Spain has a new high speed rail, and fairs are reasonable, efficient and generally reliable.

If you go to Spain your wife will HAVE to work. The US schools in Spain do not pay enough to feed and sustain a family of four. Yes it is a great country and culture but the schools should tell you just how difficult it will be.

The Lincoln school in BA should allow you to work and support your family on one salary. Albeit without much savings. It is a tough school to get into though.

Good luck.
