I've recently discovered Whole Brain Teaching (WBT, aka Power Teaching), and I'm planning to implement it in my classroom this upcoming school year. However, I will be teaching in an IB school for the first time, and am wondering how compatible WBT is with the IB philosophy? WBT seems to be heavily based in direct instruction, while IB is supposed to be inquiry based and student centered. Has anyone successfully implemented WBT in their IB classroom? What changes, if any, did you have to make to the WBT methods?

Thanks. I should add that I'll be teaching in the PYP, which I've heard (depending on who you talk to) is the most flexible part of the IB. I can see how some parts of WBT would match up well with the PYP, but not so sure about other parts. Parts of WBT seem awfully teacher-centered, which in theory would not fit in well with IB philosophy. I suppose I won't know for sure until I try it.
