Changing schools in country but keeping the expat package?

Is it possible to do this? For example, if I chose to accept a position at a 2nd tier school in say Bangkok, could I look for a subsequent contract at a higher level school in the city, yet still be hired as an expat versus a local?

I've known people that have (I've done this with ESL jobs in country and intend to do the same as a qualified teacher too.)

It's all down to the negotiation. What they are paying for at the end of the day is your skills and qualifications. These don't diminish just because you are a local hire.

Sell yourself to them. You know the country and as you live there they won't have to pay relocation costs. Also as you are already living in country you have shown you like/can cope living there so will be extremely unlikely to disappear mid contract because you don't like it.
