Can anyone give me an update on the current teaching environment at MIS ? what are the administrators like ? I would also be interested in cost of living and how the locals treat teachers from the USA and any other info you think would be useful. thank you for your time.

Beautiful location but in general not a pleasant place to work. Overly political and the 'lifers' who genuinely believe that there is no better place in the universe than southern Bavaria will eventually get to you. At first it might sound charming that someone from Bolton or Buffalo found their true home in rural Germany, but when that translates to an irrational outlook toward all things 'foreign' then it can become a bit uncomfortable to say the least.
If it's your first post or possibly a way to get back into Europe (after a long time in less developed areas) than maybe it's a good idea. But if you are a bit more experienced and more familiar with a positive, supportive environment, than I would look elsewhere.
Good luck.
