Question about resume

Post by michellejb »

I'm attending UNI and have a question about the CV/resume. I've read where it is suggested to take about 25 extra copies to distribute in case the schools want one (even though I've already sent a copy via email to the schools I'm interested in). My questions are:

1) When do you hand them out?

2) Should this resume/CV be in a folder or is it OK to just give a stapled copy?

Obviously this is my first time so not sure how to go about this.

Thanks for the info

1) When I went to UNI, I handed out my resume at the sign up for interviews, even though I'd sent some out via e-mail in advance. I assumed the recruiters weren't toting a bunch of resumes halfway around the world. I had some extras for recruiters who invited me later to interview.

2) Keep it lightweight and unfussy; skip the folder or any sort of binding.

Take extra copies of your resume, make sure you print it on top quality paper that will stand out from the others, perhaps choose an alternative color. We have both stapled our pictures to our resumes and also printed our pictures right at the top. Do not put it in a folder, that will just hide it away. You will hand out your resume as you introduce yourself to the recruiters.

Good Luck at UNI, its a great fair.
