Tier 1 schools

Post by michellejb »

I've read alot about international schools being classified as a "tier 1" school or not. Could someone explain what makes a school qualify as a tier 1 or lower and give examples of which schools are which?

Do a search on top tier- here's one thread on top paying schools, if that is a criteria for top tier:

It's all relative of course; pay, location, size, job, students, Admin- whatever. There have been a number of threads that point this out. Your top school might not be my top school.

In my mind Tier 1 schools have a good reputation, pay a decent wage, treat their teachers with respect, demand a fair workload and provide an excellent education. Your not embarrassed to say you work there.

What's your priority probably determines your top schools. I do think that 'good' schools treat their teachers professionally with high expectations and respectable compensation.

Whatever that is....
